THE PRACTICE
Our Practice
The Family Doctor Clinic of LaPlace was founded in 1982 by Dr. Christy Montegut and Dr. Dominic Arcuri.
Over the years, they built a sprawling practice that has served the community of LaPlace and surrounding areas.
LaPlace was a smaller town then, but the practice has grown to accomodate the expanding needs of the community.
Now, a second generation with Dr. Christian Montegut and Dr. Michael Arcuri have joined the Family Doctor Clinic and look forward to providing the next generation the same great care.
Our Doctors
Dominic Arcuri III, MD
Dr. Dominic Arcuri is one of the co-founders of The Family Doctor Clinic of LaPlace. He graduated from Louisiana State University undergraduate and medical schools and completed a residency in Family Medicine at LSU-Lake Charles where he served as chief resident during his final year.
After nearly 40 years of practice, Dr. Arcuri retired in July 2021. We wish him a happy retirement.
Christy Montegut, MD
Dr. Christy Montegut started The Family Doctor Clinic of LaPlace in 1980. A native of LaPlace, he attended University of New Orleans for undergraduate and Tulane School of Medicine. After completing a Family Medicine residency in Tallahassee, FL, he came back to his hometown and started the Family Doctor Clinic. Dr. Montegut has served as the coroner for St. John the Baptist Parish for 25+ years.
Michael Arcuri, MD
Dr. Michael Arcuri is the newest physician to join the group in 2015. He attended Louisiana State University for undergraduate and then American University of the Caribbean for medical school. Thereafter, he completed a Family Medicine Residency in Kenner with LSU and Ochsner and served as chief resident during his final year. He is also an Associate Faculty for LSU Family Medicine.
Christian Montegut, MD
Dr. Christian Montegut, following in his father's footsteps, joined The Family Doctor Clinic in 2011. After attending Louisiana State University for undergraduate, he went to Tulane Medical School and then completed residency at East Jefferson Family Medicine.
